What are QR codes?

A QR code (quick response code) is a type of 2D bar code that is used to provide easy access to information through a smartphone or other means.

In this process, the device is pointed at a QR code, which is then scanned using the devices camera in order to access the information. In order to successfully scan a QR code, it is important that you use a scanner with 2D imaging capabilities, unlike 1D scanners which process barcodes differently.
